The double breast pump allows you to express breast milk twice as fast as a single pump. Basically, both breasts are pumped at the same time. For a mom in a hurry this is a godsend.
Breast pumps are great tools for nursing moms that work outside the home. A double breast pump is simply twice as wonderful, because a woman can express her milk quickly, pack it to chill for later consumption and get on with her work.
There are several brands and models of the double breast pump. Some of the most popular include: Medela Pump in Style, Playtex Embrace, Bailey Nurture, First Years Natural Comfort and Ameda Purely Yours. These models all do the same thing: they pump milk from both breasts at once and are powered by a motorized electric pump. There are various differences between them all in aesthetics, fit, suction and cleaning procedures. It’s a good idea to talk to other moms, read reviews and research the double breast pump before you purchase because these pricey items are not returnable.
